APEM organizes French after-school classes for English speaking children during after-school hours.
They will learn the basics of French language, both spoken and written through a variety of fun activities. The main objective of these classes is to expose the children to French language and culture in order to arouse their interest for learning in general and French in particular.
Curriculum:
APEM follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR), this document provides a practical tool for setting clear standards to be attained at successive stages of learning and for evaluating outcomes in an internationally comparable manner.
The Common European Framework divides learners into three broad divisions which can be divided into six levels:
A Basic Speaker
A1 Beginner
A2 Elementary
B Independent Speaker
B1 Intermediate
B2 Upper intermediate
C Proficient Speaker
C1 Advanced
C2 Mastery or proficiency
The CEFR describes what a student will achieve in the areas of reading, listening, speaking and writing at each level.
Students may take a test, the DELF(Diplôme d’études en langue française) to advance to the next level.Visit www.coe.int for more information.
Our Educational Coordinator and teachers work together to adapt French learning methods to each student’s group level.
We encourage a lively and playful environment as playing and socializing is the best way to learn without even noticing it!
